Nashville Area

Although the Nashville Area is the largest of the twelve IHS regions geographically, only 45,000 Indian people receive health care from its IHS facilities. Most beneficiaries utilize the services of tribally run clinics. The Cherokee Hospital in North Carolina is the only IHS operated Service Unit in the Nashville Area. However, some Commissioned Corps dentists are working in other facilities through IHS-Tribal agreements.
